By expressing whatever is uppermost in our mind, feelings, thoughts, wishes, fears, memories and dreams can be explored within the safety of the therapeutic relationship. The aim being to enable us to find more appropriate ways of coping with our difficulties and to bring about changes in our thinking, feeling and behaviour.

Couples Therapy


A place to help explore dynamics within relationships and how past experiences can impact on current relationships.

I also offer a space to address challenges placed on relationships, such as betrayals, loss, recurring arguments, lack of connection.

Good communication is essential to maintaining a healthy relationship as well as learning to meet each others needs.

I work with heterosexual and LGBT relationships and welcome monogamous, open and polyamorous relationship styles. Relationships can also include friends, family members or colleagues etc.

Yes. In addition to the personal testimonies of millions of people around the world who have been helped by psychotherapy, there is a large body of evidence to show that psychotherapy is effective in addressing most mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, substance use problems, and what are often diagnosed as 'personality disorders'.
Therapy usually ends by mutual consent when you feel you have got what you wanted from the therapy, Usually we would set a date and work towards a satisfactory ending.
Trust your instincts. Research shows that the alliance between therapist and client is the best predictor of a good outcome in therapy. So an Initial assessment can very vey helpful in determining this.
Most people attend weekly sessions at a regular time, but on occasion it may be less frequent than this. This would be explored and agreed in the first session.
There is much crossover between the two disciplines. But Psychotherapy involves extra qualifications and may look deeper into dynamics formed in childhood etc. I am trained and qualified in both.
All sessions are confidential. Confidentiality is only broken in extreme circumstances such as care for your safety around suicide, or extreme criminal behaviour such as involvement in murder terirorism or child abuse.
Covid19 proved that online therapy works very well and is effective. It really depends on personal preference and circumstances.
